As a second-grade math teacher, I look forward to incorporating surveys to enhance the learning experience for my students. Surveys will be valuable tools to assess their prior knowledge of mathematical concepts, understand their interests, and identify their preferred learning styles. Utilizing this information, I can tailor my math lessons to align with their interests and cater to their individual learning needs. For instance, before going into a unit on addition and subtraction, I can use surveys to discover which math activities or problem-solving approaches they find most enjoyable. This personalized approach aims to make math lessons more engaging and relevant for second-grade students, cultivating curiosity and interest in the subject. Top of Form Upon reviewing my classmates' blogs, the most interesting aspect of the blogs was the enthusiasm for the web design assignment showcasing their creativity and recognizing the practical utility of these skills for future educationa...

Hello my lovely readers! Being a virtual student has been an interesting journey. One perk I've enjoyed is the flexibility that comes with managing my own schedule. It's great to have the autonomy to decide when and where I engage with course materials. The variety of online resources and tools available has also bolstered my learning experience. However, the lack of face-to-face interaction can be isolating and at times it's tough to maintain motivation without the physical presence of peers and instructors. As a student, I believe teachers can enhance the distance learning experience by ensuring clear communication channels, providing additional support for those struggling to adapt, and creating virtual activities that capture and maintain our interest. Connecting with students on a personal level, even if it's through a screen can make a significant difference in fostering a sense of belonging and motivation. Open Educational Resources are freely accessible, openly ...

Hello my lovely readers! We're starting off this evening by talking about the skills I acquired from working on the Web-design assignment. In the beginning, Weebly felt overwhelming, and there were moments of frustration trying to grasp its functionality. However, as I spent more time navigating its interface and experimenting with its tools, I gradually gained a sense of ease and confidence. Overcoming the initial learning curve was a reward, and it ultimately honed my ability to adapt to new digital platforms. This strengthened my skills in using technology to express creativity. Link to my website  https://brittaburtonsclass1.weebly.com/ Using Diigo helped me become better at organizing and sharing things I find online. It also aided in improving how I collect my own information. In my classroom, we would use Diigo to enhance collaborative learning by enabling students to share annotated resources, encouraging engagement and a deeper understanding of subjects. With team me...

Hello again my lovely readers.       Teacher pages on school websites are mandated by many schools to enhance communication between teachers, students, and parents. They provide vital information about teachers, class schedules, assignments, and announcements, serving as a centralized resource for educational materials. These digital platforms facilitate organization, transparency, and collaboration within the school community.        Publicly accessible sections of school websites often include general information about the school, its mission and values, contact details, faculty listings, and perhaps some information about extracurricular activities and events. However, for detailed class pages, students and parents with login privileges typically have access to specific information such as class assignments, lesson plans, important dates, grades, and announcements. These secured areas provide a more in-depth look at the day-to-day activiti...

Blogging by Britta Burton  Hello my lovely readers! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I first started using Diigo this semester, and at first, I found the user interface a bit overwhelming with its numerous features and settings. As I have gotten more comfortable with it, I have really enjoyed its functionality as a social bookmarking tool. I really like the way I can organize web pages, add highlights and annotations, and share them with others. Diigo has made my online research and note-taking more efficient. I love to take notes, and having the Diigo Web extension has made my note taking so much easier. As for my experience with blogging, it has been an interesting journey for me. I really enjoy writing in general, but what I like about blogging is the creative freedom it offers. I can express my thoughts and ideas in such a personalized way. The platform is great for sharing knowledge and connecting with a wider audience. However, it’s not without its challe...

Good evening my lovely readers!      I must admit that my interactions on Twitter have been almost nonexistent. I have never really used Twitter and my understanding of the platform is still very basic. From what I've gathered, Twitter can be a valuable tool for communication and information sharing. It allows users to follow accounts of interest, which can keep them updated on news, trends, and discussions across various domains. Additionally, Twitter provides an opportunity to connect with professionals, influencers, and thought leaders in specific fields. Looking ahead to my potential future career, I can see how Twitter could be helpful. It could serve as a platform for networking, promoting my work, and staying informed about developments in the field. Professionals often use Twitter to share their expertise, engage with their audience, and build their personal or professional brand.     On to our next topic, the digital divide impacts both stude...
